Primary Program - 3 yrs. to 6 yrs. The Willow Room
In the Willow room, our program combines preschool and kindergarten students in a multi-age classroom. The program is based on extensive research on early childhood education and child development. Here children learn and play in a joyful, nurturing, peaceful yet stimulating environment that is carefully prepared for their developmental stage. Making choices and using coordinated movements to accomplish tasks leads the child toward self-regulation and self-control. Children develop observation and problem-solving skills. By manipulating, experimenting and discovering, children begin to move from the concrete to the abstract.
Our Kindergarten teachers are Florida State certified with advanced degrees.

World Languages for Primary and Beyond
From birth to age 6, the “absorbent mind” soaks up information like a sponge. The child uses all five senses to absorb and understand information about the surrounding environment at home and in school. Within this stage, the period from age 1.5 to 3 or 4 is marked by a “language explosion” as the child rapidly expands vocabulary and develops more sophisticated use of language. It is also a prime time to learn another language.
At Montessori Children’s House, world language instruction begins in Primary classrooms. Spanish classes are integrated into the curriculum daily to offer the advantage of knowing other languages and understanding other cultures. It is our hope that Montessori Children’s House equips students with a 21st century skill set as they prepare to live and contribute in a global society.
