The Director, Melanie Samuelson, welcomes families of all religions, ethnic origins, and economic backgrounds. It is the school’s purpose that all children be educated in a positive, self-rewarding, stimulating and nurturing environment utilizing self-motivation, repetition and a sense of order combined with a structured means of positive discipline.

Montessori Philosophy
http://www.montessorichildrenshouse.com/philosophy.htm

Montessori Children’s House utilizes the Montessori method of education and materials developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. We believe that children learn best by doing, not by passively accepting other people's ideas and pre-existing knowledge. We teach the children through their natural interest in exploring the world, taking each child's unique abilities into consideration in developing them. The goal of a Montessori education is to help children become responsible, self-motivated learners competent in all areas of life.

Montessori Education vs. Traditional Education
http://www.montessorichildrenshouse.com/traditional.htm

The goal of both Montessori and Traditional education is the same: To provide positive learning experiences for the child. A comparison of both methods is listed on this page. The biggest differences lie in the kind of learning experiences each school provides and the methods they use to accomplish this goal. Montessori educators believe both differences are important because they help shape what a child learns, his work habits, and his future attitudes toward himself and the world around him.
