South Florida Ballet continues to
offer the art of ballet ( beginners and intermediate) to the
three to six year old students on site under the guidance of
Artistic Director/Teacher, Jennifer Rose. South Florida Ballet
has expanded and re-located its facility to 12901 S.W. 122
Avenue, Suite #104.
Ms. Rose’s notable resume includes
studies with the San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Houston
Ballet and the Milwaukee Ballet professional programs. She
graduated Magna Cum Laude from the New World School of the Arts,
College Division. Ballet recitals are presented to the student's
families at South Florida Ballet's facility at the end of the
school year.
Piano, Violin & Guitar
A division of the Music Academy of
Coral Gables (Piano Art Galeria), Kendall Studios, provides piano,
guitar and violin lessons on site to interested students (ages 4
through 6) after school on Mondays through Thursdays for a nominal
fee.
The thirty-minute (piano) and forty-five
minute (guitar/violin) private lessons are specifically designed for
beginners to further their musical talent and knowledge. The weekly
lesson includes music theory, solfege, technique, and repertory.
Recitals are presented at the end of the school year at the Music
Academy of Coral Gables (Piano Art Galeria).
Tae Kwon Do
Montessori Children’s
House is pleased to announce its association with Grandmaster Mel
Steiner of CHI Tae Kwon Do. Their facility is located at 12122 S.W. 131
Avenue, Miami, FL, (305) 254-1616.
Grandmaster Steiner,
and Ansen Steiner, 3rd Degree Black Belt, bring their
indomitable spirit and services to our school offering Tae Kwon Do
classes twice weekly as an after school extra curricular activity from
3:00 – 4:00 pm.*
The
success of Chi Tae Kwon Do as an organization is directly attributed to
the philosophy of courtesy, honesty, integrity, perseverance, self
control, hard work and technical excellence recognized world wide.
The
training curriculum for all students consists of fundamental hand and
foot exercises, patterns (the application of fundamental exercises
practiced against an imaginary opponent), sparring (the application of
fundamental movements and patterns against a moving opponent), and self
defense. Courses may also be taught to students who have special needs.
*An additional
Saturday morning class is also included at their facility for all
students enrolled in the program.
Spanish and French
Lessons
Montessori Children’s House, in conjunction with Links Languages,
offers French and Spanish lessons as part of the school curriculum
and as an additional extra-curricular activity for students after
school. Links Languages is a language
academy with successful programs taught in Europe and in the United
States since 1992. The company provides services to a multitude of
prestigious schools, parks and centers with on-campus language
courses and private tutoring. Links Languages utilizes a
communicative method that combines strategies of the natural
approach and physical approach facilitating fast conversational
progress in the language presented. Their interactive approach
awakens students' abilities to motivate them through a variety of
workshops involving dynamic hands-on activities, songs, role-play,
etc.
Corinne Galvis
has been the academic Director of Links languages since 2005. Ms.
Galvis, a mother of three, was born and raised in France where she
studied Foreign Languages.
Ms
Galvis
has a passion for
teaching children and
became an EFL teacher (English as a Foreign Language) while studying
in England. She taught French and English to children and
adults for nine years while running a language school in Colombia,
South America.
Gymnastics

Studio of Gymnastics, 12420 S.W. 117 Court, Miami, FL 33176, (305)

Rudolfo Alfonso,
owner, has over twenty-three years of gymnastics experience and his son,
Anthony Alfonso, over ten years of experience. Both instructors are
Safety Certified and USAG members.
Octaviano's Studio
of Gymnastics will bring their vast knowledge and experience in
the sport of gymnastics into our school. Both instructors will present
to our P/K/K students (ages 3 - 6) onsite a gymnastic's program centered
on the following apparatus and skills: Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor
fundamentals. This balanced approach seeks to develop in our
students both their mind and body so that the children develop
coordination, increase overall flexibility and acquire confidence in
themselves. Building on the above skills, the four and five year old
students will advance their competence as the exercises are mastered as
per the USAG Compulsory Program.
This
extra-curricular program will be available to interested students twice
weekly during the extended lunch/playground hour.
Additionally,
Octaviano's Studio of Gymnastics will offer at their
facility gymnastic programs on designated teacher work days and during
Spring/Winter breaks for any interested Montessori students when MCH is
closed.
